Basics Class

Ron Chestnut Sensei & Renate Chestnut Sensei
Monday Evenings:  
5:30 pm - 7 pm

Basics class is slower-paced and focused on basic aikido techniques. Ron Sensei & Renate Sensei will explore basic technique fundamentals, including an introduction to aikido weapons. An ideal class for beginners and for more advanced students who aim to deepen their practice.

Richard Strozzi-Heckler Shihan
Tuesday and Thursday Evenings:  
5:30 pm - 7 pm

All Levels classes are more advanced than basics classes.  Basic ukemi skills are recommended.  Richard Sensei's classes focus on training in Aiki principles with a sensibility of a martial context,  emphasizing taking Aikido training and principles into our everyday life.

Craig O'Connor Sensei & Eric Shott Sensei
Friday Evening:
6 pm - 7:30 pm

Weapons class is open to all levels and focuses on fundamentals and structured individual and partner practices of Aiki-ken (sword) and Aiki-jo (staff). Weapons training enhances every aspect of Tai-jutsu (empty-handed techniques), and learning these universally applicable principles enables the practitioner to handle attacks from one or more opponents.

Saturday Mornings:
10 am - 11:30 am

All Levels classes are more advanced than basics classes. Basic ukemi skills are recommended. Alan Sensei’s classes focus on deepening our sense of listening, connection and wholehearted presence from both uke and nage’s point of view. The study of aikido principles, alignment and movement can be applied both on and off the mat.


Training Fees:

  • Monthly Dues: $80/month

  • Basics Class Only: $30/month

  • Visitors: $20 mat fee
